HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
In the first instance, simply give us a call or send us a message on our contact page for more information.
If you are wishing to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will need a referral from your treating doctor who will determine your eligibility for psychology services. We recommend that you speak with your GP prior to making an appointment with us. We have collaborative relationships with many local general practitioners. Good liaison between psychologist and GP improves outcomes for those seeking psychological assistance. You will need to book a long consultation with your GP to discuss your concerns and allow them time to make the appropriate referral.

For those who are not eligible for a Medicare rebate (such as those seeking couple counselling), you may wish to see one of the practitioners privately. In this instance you do not need a doctor's referral. You may be entitled to claim a rebate via your private health insurance. You will need to contact your insurer and ask about your cover.

FEES AND REBATES
ClinPsych Ballarat's fees are set well below the recommended scheduled fee of $300.00 for a standard 50 minute consultation as set by the Australian Psychological Society.
Our current rates are as follows:

Consultation Type: Standard 50 minutes
Consultation Fee: $230
Standard Medicare Rebate (for those with current MHCP): $141.85 (minimum)
Out of Pocket Amount: $88.15

ClinPsych Ballarat does not offer bulk billed services.
​
For your convenience ClinPsych Ballarat can submit your Medicare rebate claim with your payment. Your rebate, once processed by Medicare, will appear in your nominated bank account, usually within 24 hours.
​
Rebates may also be claimed with private health insurers. Please speak with your health insurance provider regarding the rebate for which you are eligible. Note that private health insurance rebates can only be claimed where Medicare rebates are not claimed.

Clients may also be assisted with funding through EAP, NDIS or other third parties. If you are funded through a third party please discuss this with us when you call.
